The Monstera everyone keeps asking us about is finally here.
The Monstera Devil Monster is available rooted and established in a 3”, 5” or 7” planter. Known for its unpredictable mix of deep green, mint, cream and white, this rare variegated Monstera deliciosa produces leaves that can appear marbled, streaked, feathered or heavily splashed.
No two Devil Monsters grow exactly alike. One leaf may emerge with softer mint patterning while the next develops bolder cream and white sections. That constant change is part of what makes this rare houseplant so exciting to grow.
Devil Monster becomes even more distinctive as it matures. With bright indirect light, consistent care and climbing support, the leaves can become larger and develop deeper fenestrations, pronounced ridging and the unusually textured appearance collectors associate with mature specimens. Younger plants may not yet display the full mature look shown by established mother plants, but their characteristics can become increasingly visible with each stage of growth.
Also known in collector circles as Circuit Monstera, Devil Monster gained international attention in 2024 after a mature specimen was reportedly sold for 1.4 million Thai baht—approximately $39,000 at the time—during a Bangkok exotic plant show. That sale involved a particular mature collector plant and does not represent the value of every Devil Monster, but it helped introduce the variety to rare plant collectors around the world.
Because the plant’s early circulation and naming history were not formally documented, we do not repeat claims about its exact origin as fact. What is clear is that authentic Monstera Devil Monster remains highly sought after for its unusual variegation, mature leaf texture and limited availability.
What You Will Receive
Choose a Monstera Devil Monster in a 3”, 5” or 7” planter. Your plant will be rooted, established and professionally acclimated in Plant Vault’s climate-controlled greenhouse before shipment.
Leaf count, height, maturity and variegation will naturally vary. We select for healthy growth and premium coloring, but no seller can accurately promise the exact pattern of a future leaf. That unpredictability is part of owning a living variegated plant.
Plant Vault sends photos of your plant before shipment so you can see the plant selected for your order.
Common Questions From Our Customers
What is a Monstera Devil Monster?
Monstera Devil Monster is a highly collectible variegated Monstera deliciosa known for its cream, white, mint and deep green patterning. Mature plants can also develop pronounced ridging, textured foliage and deeply fenestrated leaves that give the variety its unmistakable appearance.
Why is Monstera Devil Monster so expensive?
Devil Monster is still difficult to find as a healthy, correctly identified and established plant. Its price is influenced by availability, planter size, root development, maturity, leaf count and variegation quality. The variety has become more accessible since its highly publicized debut, but established plants with desirable coloring and mature characteristics remain valuable to collectors.
How do you care for a Monstera Devil Monster?
Place it in bright, indirect light and water thoroughly when the upper portion of the potting mix begins to dry. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix and provide a moss pole or other sturdy support as the plant develops.
Care Guide
Monstera Devil Monster is surprisingly straightforward to care for when given bright indirect light, consistent watering and an airy potting mix that allows the roots to breathe. Average indoor humidity is suitable, while added humidity and climbing support can help encourage larger, more mature foliage.
Variegation Tip
Variegated leaves contain less chlorophyll than fully green leaves, so good lighting is especially important. Bright indirect light helps the plant support its cream, white and mint coloring without exposing the lighter sections to harsh direct sun.
Every new leaf will be different. The amount and placement of variegation may increase, decrease or shift as the plant grows, and the defining texture and patterning can become more pronounced with maturity.
Shipping and Acclimation
We ship plants Monday through Thursday to help prevent unnecessary weekend delays. Your plant is carefully inspected and professionally packaged before leaving our greenhouse.
Once delivered, place your Devil Monster in bright indirect light and give it time to adjust to its new environment. Keep it in its original planter during the initial acclimation period rather than repotting immediately, since unnecessary root disturbance can create additional stress after shipping.
Please inspect your plant when it arrives and contact Plant Vault within 24 hours of delivery if you have any concerns. Include clear photos of the plant and packaging so our team can review the issue and help quickly.
