The rare tropical plant Hoya obovata ‘Splash’ is a trailing, epiphytic wax plant recognized for its thick, round leaves covered in scattered silver-white splashes. Native to the tropical rainforests of South and Southeast Asia, this variety has become a collector favorite for its distinctive variegation and low-maintenance nature. Its vines can be left to cascade from a hanging planter or trained upward on a trellis for a sculptural display. In bright, indirect light, the silver splashes intensify, making each leaf a unique focal point.
This rare plant comes in a 6” grow pot from Plant Vault and is easy care. It thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers a chunky, well-draining mix with orchid bark or perlite. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings, and maintain warm temperatures with average to high humidity. Fertilize with trace amounts at every watering during active growth. A slightly rootbound plant will be more likely to bloom, producing clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers.
