Ficus Shivereana Growth
This stunning rubber plant is an evergreen beauty that can reach up to 8 feet indoors. However, it can grow up to 65 feet if planted outdoors. On average, the plant grows nearly 2 feet yearly. The biggest factor on growth and leaf size however is the amount of light the plant receives.
The Ficus Shivereana is an easy-care houseplant that likes moist soil, but hates soggy medium. The houseplant does best in the bright indirect sunlight and is happy in aerated and well-draining soil.
The Ficus Shiveriana plant needs to be watered regularly, but be careful not to overwater it as it will get root rot. Allow the soil to dry out between watering and tilt the pot to properly drain excess water. If the leaves are wilting or drooping, it may be a sign that the plant is not getting enough water.
The Ficus Shiveriana plants prefer bright, indirect light to grow big and keep it's variegation strong. Avoid placing the plant in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as this can scorch the leaves permanently.
Temperature and Humidity
The Ficus Shiveriana plant prefers temperatures between 60°F to 75°F (15°C to 24°C). They can tolerate lower humidity around 50%, but prefer high humidity levels. You can achieve this by using a humidifier, pebble tray or place it next to other plants to help increase humidity.
